In Memory of Chili  ("my buddy lover")
December 26, 1996 - October 18, 2008

Chili and I became a family on Valentine's Day 1997.   From the minute I looked at that precious little boy, he had my heart forever. The bond we shared for close to 12 years is beyond words.  He was my other half... Chili was living with an enlarged heart for the past few years... I liked to say it was because he was filled up with so much love! This past Saturday Chili's big heart beat for the last time.  In death as in life,  Chili was a true Gentleman... my buddy lover!
Chili, I look forward to coming home to you again.
I love you Chili, from your mama lover
I rescued Fritz from an animal shelter in North Carolina in December of 1999. He was slated for euthanasia the following day. I was told that Fritz was aggressive and would never make a good companion but when my eyes met his, he told me a different story. I brought him home and nursed him back to health. When he no longer felt pain, he was a happy little dog that never showed any aggression. He was the best companion I ever had. I was often applauded for saving his life, but in many more ways, he saved mine. He died in my arms from pneumonia on May 27, 2008. He lived with me for more than 8 years. He was estimated to be approximately 7 years of age when I adopted him. He had a long life. Rest peacefully my little angel boy. We are so very heartbroken but we know when we arrive in heaven, you'll be by the gate waiting for us.

In loving memory of Hershey
December 2, 1992 ~ May 31, 2008
She was the most loving dog. She was OUR first dog when we got married. My husband got her at 8 weeks when we were engaged and of course she was our forever. We were luckier than most and knew her from the day she was born. We had alot of property in Connecticut where we are from and Brittany's are bird dogs so she never had a bad day in her life. She was always safe but had alot of space to run and chase things.  We were very touched how nicely her remains were handled. The box that holds her ashes is beautiful and the certificate and lock of hair were especially thoughtful, and unexpected. Bittersweet.

My Beautiful Mino

Empress Minarod entered this world the way all racing greyhounds do, she was bred to be a winner; she performed with her heart and soul until shattering her rear leg, yet still winning the race. The girl had HEART. Mino came into my life when she was supposed to be put to sleep because of her injury. She was the pride and joy of our adoption program "Pups Without Partners." Because of her warming my heart 10,000 other greyhounds are living happily in their new homes. Memorial Day was her one year anniversary of crossing the Rainbow Bridge at 14 years old.  ~ Penny
In loving memory of Flufi
Date of Birth-Unknown ~ Passed on May 31, 2008
Flufi (a Maltese) was found as a stray 12 years ago. She was near death when I got her but I nursed her back to health with great love. It was Christmas time and I called her my gift from God. Flufi gave me only happines and love. She would followed me around the house while I did my chores and even  watched me garden too!  I loved her so much. I tried my best to give her a great home. Everyone says I did. She and her rescued sister, Scotchie, lived in harmony for 11 years together as best friends. So Scotchie is grieving the loss too.  Flufi became ill on May 15th. I brought her from Vet to Vet but in the end we sadly had to put her to sleep. This is the hardest thing I ever did.
She was the light of my life and the love of my heart!

Ramone Hallstrom died peacefully at his Fort Pierce home on August 9, 2008.  He is survived by his human mother, Brenna Hallstrom, of Asheville, NC where he had lived until he retired to Florida to live with Nels and Suzanne Hallstrom in 2007.  He leaves behind feline siblings Buddha, Zatoichi, Elby and Sonny of North Carolina and Babs of Fort Pierce, chihuahua siblings Madeleine, BeeJay and Star of Fort Pierce, and many cousins too numerous to mention.  He was pre-deceased by Casey, the wirehaired terrier and Tillie, the chihuahua. Ramone loved howling, backyard oyster roasts, rolling in the grass and barking at boats.   He took his job as watchdog seriously, guarding not only his own backyard but the whole neighborhood.  He loved visitors but would circle them and snort until he determined what their business was.  Many a boat mechanic refused to come through the gate until he'd been secured.   When Brenna first brought Ramone home as a puppy in 1996, we said, "We don't need a Wolf".  But we were wrong.  Ramone, a proud wolf, was much-loved and will be missed by all who knew him.

Heidi - March 15, 1989 ~ August 9, 2008

My dearest Heidi was born in March 1989 and I rescued her from a terrible environment in October of that year.
This tiny ball of Maltese fluff was tethered in a backyard by a log chain on an active hill of fire ants. After 3 days with a vet she came home to a canopy bed, good food, a weekly visit to the groomer and all the love I had to give.  She completed me.  She was my best friend, my companion and my reason to go on.  I will never forget.  She gave me more joy and love than anyone or anything ever had and I look forward to the day when I can see her again. .......Linda Live simply.  Love generously.  Care deeply.  Speak kindly.  Leave the rest to God.
In Loving Memory of Buster
July 1995 - November 5, 2008

We got Buster at 8 weeks old.  He was a fluffy bundle of love.  He was crazy and wild but with a heart of gold.  He was a crazy dog, but he was our crazy dog.  He eventually grew out of the crazy wild stage and became such a wonderful member of our family.  We were so lucky to have him in our lives and to be able to share our lives with him for 14 years.  He was our big boy.  When we had to say goodbye, it was the hardest thing to do. We thought our hearts would burst it was so painful.  He was a happy boy until the end.  Giving kisses and wagging his tail as usual.  We will miss our faithful boy. Life will never be the same without him......

In Loving Memory of Macy
August 10, 1998 ~ December 6, 2008

Macy (a.k.a) Mama <3 who was a gorgeous Austrailian Retriever born on 8/10/98 and sadly passed away on 12/6/08. Macy had come into "The Horn Family Household" when she was just a little puppy. She grew up here in sunny Florida
and enjoyed every minute of it. She loved the beach, new people, and car rides. There is not one memory we'd change with her because she was the perfect dog and we couldn't of asked for better. She left us unexpectedly though and none of us were ready for it. It's very different around here without her now, and there could never be another Macy. No matter what, you'll always be in our hearts mama and we know you're watching over us now and that you're not in any pain.

Beloved and Faithful Companion

14 years of love.
Our grief is inconsolable.

Jerry & Kit

Dear Lord, please open your gates and call St. Francis to come escort my beloved companion across the Rainbow Bridge. Assign her to a place of honor, for she has been a faithful servant and has always done her best to please me. Grant me the strength not to dwell on my loss. Help me remember the details of her life with the love she has shown me. And grant me the courage to honor her by sharing those memories with others. Let her remember me as well and let her know that I will always love her. And when it's my time to pass over into your paradise, please allow her to accompany those who will bring me home. Thank you, Lord, for the gift of her companionship and for the time we've had together. And thank you, Lord for granting me the strength to accept her passing, knowing she is finally at rest and in peace. Amen.
